In the Graveyard Antemortem by Stephen Stromp

In The Graveyard Antemortem is another fantastic book everyone should read. Stephen Stromp really knows how to bring the scare factor. The main character, Lisa, finds her father dead. It was not an ordinary death because the blood was missing from his body. She just knew it could not be suicide. Since she was only 17, Lisa was forced to go live with her uncle. She had never met her uncle, and thought it was odd when he offered to pay for the entire funeral. Her older brother was in no state to even think about babysitting. She reluctantly went to go live with her uncle. Did I mention he lived at the Cemetery that he owned? Grand Hallow Cemetery the biggest funeral industry around. She had hopes that being there would allow her to find some answers. Luckily, she has her best friend to help her out. This book has fear, sadness, shock, and so many other emotions. Not only is the book well written, but Stromp's main character is one for many girls to look up to. Lisa has an inner-strength that is rarely seen in today's world. Every question I had about the characters, and the story, were answered throughout the book. I love the ending of the book, as well, because it easily opens an opportunity to continue the story. I want to know what happens to the mom and Elizabeth!! I highly recommend everyone reads this book. The book consumed me. I did not know what was going on around me. Stephen Stromp created a thrilling novel. Lisa really grew throughout the book. It tends to happen when so much death, and despair surrounds an individual. I actually got really scared, and worried, in quite a few places in the book. There are twists, and surprises around every corner. I know I have read a great book when I dream about it after reading. Seriously, go out and read the book. It is close enough to Halloween, and this book is perfect for a fright. If it were made into a movie, it would definitely be a scary movie. I really hope he writes a sequel. You will too, once you have read the book. It was a quick read because I could not put it down. I read it in one day. Once you have read the book, please leave a comment in the In The Graveyard page. I would love to hear your thoughts as well. I want to tell you so much more about the book, but I do not want to give away any of the juicy details.

It is always nice to have a strong female lead. Girls kick butt!! Stephen Stromp really knows how to prove how strong girls can be. Young girls are going to be able to look up to her, and consider her a role model. Lisa’s attitude reminds me of myself when I was 17. Many readers will be able to relate to her. This book is not just for girls though, there are many male characters to relate to as well.

Go check it! You will not be disappointed.
